Radio Jambo presenter Jacob Ghost Mulee has today been involved in a road accident along Waiyaki Way in Westlands and rushed to Aga Khan Hospital for treatment.
This was confirmed by Kiss FM presenter Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o who revealed the news during his morning show on Kiss FM.
Jalang’o while giving the reason as to why he was late for his morning show revealed that he managed to take Mulee to the Aga Khan Hospital despite many people who were present at the scene of the accident.
“There were many people at the scene but I managed to take Ghost to the hospital where he has been admitted and that is why I was late to work,” Jalang’o stated.
Witnesses at the scene have revealed that the Radio Jambo presenter wanted to make the turn into Brookside drive when a public service vehicle rammed into his car.
Sources have revealed that the accident happened when the presenter was driving to work at Lion place building along Waiyaki way in Westlands, for his morning show at Radio Jambo.
However, their audience were kept entertained while he was away in hospital by his co-host Gidi Gidi with Patanisho, which is normally aired every Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
This is after Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai had blamed drivers for their reckless driving and flaunting of the basic safety requirements as the root cause of the rising cases of road accidents in the country.
“The National Police Service will undertake nationwide enforcement operations to address factors such as speeding, lane indiscipline, assessment of general compliance with public service vehicle (PSV) licensing requirement, a crackdown on unroadworthy vehicles among other traffic offenses,” he wrote in a statement.
According to a report released by NTSA, 2,689 persons had lost their lives between January 1 and September 30, 2020, compared to the same period last year where 2,655 lives were lost which translates to an increase of 1.3%.
During the same period, motorcyclists and pillion passenger deaths increased by 44.94% and 19.44% respectively.
