United’s new left-back suffered a career-threatening injury that left its mark many years ago.
Alex Telles’ fashionable hairstyle is something which has found the attention of many Man United fans, but upon looking closely – you can see a long scar on the side of his head.
Above his left ear, Telles has a large scar which was caused by a scary head injury he suffered while playing for Brazilian club Gremio in 2013.
In a game against Internacional in 2013, Telles went for an aerial battle and had a clash of heads with opposition defender Gabriel.
He came out way worse out of it, breaking his nose, eye socket and cheekbone at one go due to the nasty challenge.
Telles was forced to undergo surgery that included metal plates and screws inserted into his face to fix the damage.
The Brazilian was left on the sidelines for three months because of the injury but has since learnt to live with that harrowing scar on his head.
