Diamond Stole Mom’s Precious Jewelry To Finance His Career

Naseeb Juma aka Diamond Platnumz is the biggest thing in the East African entertainment scene at the moment.

But while many people might admire him while he is at the top at the moment, the man has had his fair share of average jobs.

He would do all these jobs to finance his passion for music that had beaten him when he was a 17-year-old. The money he would earn was supposed to pay for studio sessions.

One of those jobs was working as a fuel station attendant. That wasn’t all, he also selling second-hand clothes.

But despite all the hustles, he couldn’t still get the requisite money for the sessions. For that, the African Beauty decided to play the klepto, stealing his mother’s gold ring which he then sold to jump-start his music career.

When his mother found out Chibu lied that he had lost it in the bathroom-that it fell into the drainage system.

But his theft of the ring and its subsequent sale would be worth it as he was now able to fund his first single, ‘Toka Mwanzo’, a song that had a lackluster reception.

However, it would expose him to his first manager who would then pay for more studio time for the father of 4, all because he could see the burning passion and desire in Diamond.

Soon after, Diamond would have a hit with the song Kamwambie. Need I say more about his accomplishments since then?

I don’t think so…
