DP, Ruto In Thika Says: ‘Yesu pia ni Product ya Bottom – Up, ‘

Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday returned to the Mt. Kenya region where he took his message of the bottom-up economic model.

DP Ruto, while on a visit to the ACCS Church in Thika, likened the story of Jesus Christ in the Bible to his bottom-up model and, in turn, to himself and his hustler movement.

According to the DP, Jesus rose from being the son of a peasant born in a mere manger to having followers of His own.

“Yesu pia ni product ya bottom-up, alizaliwa kwa manger akapanda hadi akawa na wafuasi,” he said.

The DP hit out at his competitors for criticising his economic theory and dismissing his hustler movement.

He stated that it is important for the government of the day to ensure the people at the bottom of the food chain rise, to enable a country move forward.

“Hawa watu wawache kiburi bwana…na wawache madharau…kazi ni kazi…kama ya Prime Minister ni kazi, ya hawa vijana ni kazi pia,” he said.

DP Ruto further advocated for the education of the country’s youth saying their future can only be assured if they have the right training.

He claimed the Jubilee government, under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and himself, had built 170 training colleges and 7 new colleges in Kiambu County.

“Yule jamaa wa mawe na vita alituletea kisirani na kusambaratisha chama cha Jubilee…Next year reggae haitaanza, mwaka ujao itakua kazi ni kazi,” he said.

“Next year tunaweka Ksh.100 billion for housing, manufacturing value addition …tutengeneze ajira kwa vijana. Mwaka ujao tunaweka pesa katika biashara ya watu wadogo wadogo.”

The DP for the better part of the morning toured various areas in Thika among them Ngoliba shopping centre, Gatuanyaga shopping centre, Makongeni Posta, Kiganjo corner 2, and ACCS Church.

He was accompanied by, among others, MPs Kimani Ichung’wah (Kikuyu), Patrick Wainaina (Thika Town), Njuguna Wanjiku (Kiambaa) as well as, former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and former Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a.
