Earlier this week, The Sun reported that the “What’s Next” rapper was “ready to date” Kim Kardashian after she filed for divorce from Kanye West. According to sources, Drake started messaging the newly single star upon hearing about the split and was “confident” they would soon link up.
But there’s no truth to the rumors. When Gossip of the City reached out directly to Drake to ask if the story was “fake news,” he laughed it off. “Obviously,” he wrote alongside a crying laughing face emoji.

Earlier this month, some fans speculated that Drake was rapping about having relations with Kanye’s estranged wife on his Lil Baby-assisted song “Wants and Needs,” which includes the lyrics, “Yeah, I probably should go link with Yeezy, I need me some Jesus / But soon as I started confessin’ my sins, he wouldn’t believe us.”
This is not the first time Drake and Kim have sparked relationship rumors. On his 2018 hit “In My Feelings,” he rapped about a woman named Kiki, which is Kim’s nickname. However, the SKIMS founder denied that the two ever hooked up. “Never happened. End of story,” she wrote.
Kim officially filed for divorce from Kanye on Feb. 19 after nearly seven years of marriage. Their split is said to be amicable and they will continue to co-parent their four children— North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1.
Earlier this week, Drake made history by becoming the first artist to debut three tops atop the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously with his trifecta of Scary Hours 2 tracks—”What’s Next,” “Wants and Needs” featuring Lil Baby, and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” featuring Rick Ross.
