You would forgive Frank Lampard for suffering from flashbacks last night. It was almost like old times. Roman Abramovich was watching Chelsea storm to victory in Europe in front of supporters. Why can’t it always be like this, Lampard may have been pondering. He will struggle without Abramovich and the travelling supporters ahead of the weekend trip to Burnley – but if Chelsea’s defence continues like this then victory should follow. Callum Hudson-Odoi got the ball rolling before Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic put the gloss on an excellent victory for the Blues.
