‘This Case Proved That Change Is Long Overdue’: Casie

Cassie Ventura has broken her silence after Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of two out of five counts in his highly publicised sex trafficking trial today.

The rapper was found guilty of two counts of transportation for prostitution, but cleared of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

Cassie’s lawyer, Doug Wigdor, stated on Wednesday: “We’re pleased that he’s finally been held responsible for two federal crimes.”

He added: ‘This case proved that change is long overdue and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.”

The lawyer also said that Cassie “paved the way” for the convictions, and “although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.”

Doug told CNN the verdict “is not a loss” and that “Diddy” is now a convicted criminal, and added that Cassie “felt comfort” that she brought attention to the rapper’s behaviour.

Defence attorney Marc Agnifilo has said that “Diddy” should “be released on appropriate conditions” in light of the fact that he had been acquitted on racketeering and sex trafficking.
