West Ham United have reportedly been informed that they can sign Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips for £10m during the January transfer window.
The Hammers have lost both Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna to injury and will therefore enter the winter market for a new central defender.
A recent report claimed that David Moyes’s side are keen on Phillips, who is expected to be on the sidelines until January due to a fractured cheekbone.
According to The Sun, Liverpool are prepared to sell the 24-year-old on a permanent basis at the start of 2022 if they receive an offer in the region of £10m.
The report claims that a number of clubs are interested in a loan deal for the Englishman, but the Reds want him to leave on a full-time transfer due to their options in central defence.
Phillips made 17 Premier League appearances last season due to Liverpool’s injury problems, but he has not featured in England’s top flight this term.
