Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the Manchester United star has undergone an operation and will be out for the foreseeable future.
Manchester United has had their fair share of injury issues this season but the side has done admirably in the absence of their players. After a stumbling start to the season, they have steadied the ship quite well over the past couple of weeks.
It looked like the side was doomed after a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur. It looks like that was the wake-up call they needed though as they have come out flying out of the international break.
One player who has not been part of any of this though is Phil Jones. And it looks like he is set to be on the sidelines till December, as was confirmed by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Phil has been injured and he’s had an operation and he’s working really hard to be back. He’ll hopefully get fit during December”.
The defender had looked like he was going to be a Manchester United stalwart for years to come during his early years at the club and was a favorite of Sir Alex Ferguson. Since then though things have not gone quite as expected for Jones.
