The Ministry of Health under Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has been lauded for their unique way of handling the COVID-19 pandemic
Kenya’s Health Ministry is among a few health ministries in Africa and even beyond that are still giving daily updates of COVID-19.
Most of Kenya’s immediate neighbours are no longer giving daily updates. Some like Tanzania declared the nation free of COVID-19. Uganda on the other hand, it was President Yoweri Museveni who was giving updates but after several days.
Since mid-March, CS Kagwe and his team have been giving updates after every 24 hours.
Celebrated Ugandan journalist Onyango Obbo has lauded CS Kagwe and his job for how they have been keeping Kenya updated.
“Kenya can be an intriguing country. Beyond the noisy politics, it’s one of the FEW countries out there where the Health minister & top Health ministry officials still show up in-person daily (except Sundays) to give Covid briefings & answer media questions on the pandemic, ” said the journalist.
Ugandans and a few Kenyans have joined him at the comment section to say the following:
@Nyunja_Mr : It’s called division of labour and specialization, everyone plays according to their skit accordingly. We call them ‘Covid-millionaires’
@Virginiaahhh: Let them tell Kenyans the truth, those who have ears will listen….ignore this disease @ ur own risk.
@Michael81840515 : Ukiacha ufisadi na ukabila Kenya ni nchi nzuri sana na bila ufisadi mngekuwa mbali sana ktk maendeleo ya kiuchumi na kijamii, watanzania tuadmire demokrasia yenu,
@samson_nyimu : I lived in Nairobi for 3 years and I love Kenya alot, your 100% correct.
