Disaster Strikes As 2 Children Die Beacause Of Eating Lunch In Siaya

Calamity hit a family at Osumba village, South Alego location in Siaya when two children died yesterday, moments after taking lunch prepared by their father.

According to the neighbours, the children, Evaline Akinyi aged two and a half years and her brother,

Oscar Omondi aged five and a pupil at Nyandiwa primary school had enjoyed a meal

together with their father but developed complications shortly.

The neighbours said they were attracted to the home by cries for help from the father

who appeared confused over the development and immediately helped him get a motorcycle to Mulaha health centre.

Mulaha sub-location assistant chief, Marcellus Murunga told the media that the children

were pronounced dead on arrival at the health centre.

“The father says that he prepared lunch which they all ate but immediately after, the

children started behaving weirdly,” said the assistant chief.

Siaya sub-county police commander, Benedict Mwangangi confirmed the incident, saying

that the police have launched investigations.

The bodies of the children were removed to Siaya county referral hospital mortuary for preservation pending post mortem.
