The government has ordered an immediate crackdown on Pakistan foreigners. They are said to be in the country illegally. This is a cause for alarm especially due to the covid-19 threat.
The directive comes following the high number of Pakistan nationals spotted in estates in Athi River and Nairobi. Most of them are residing in AirBnBs around the city.
The operation will be undertaken by the Department of Immigration.It will work hand in hand with the National Police Service.This was the statement of Dr. Karanja Kibicho; Pricipal Secretary of Interior.
PS Kibicho in the statement said majority of the Asian nationals seen in the country have originated from Pakistan and have valid Transit Visas to Saudi Arabia that are issued on arrival.
Kenya has been witnessing an increase in the number of foreigners in the last 4 months.
The government will henceforth restrict the number of foreigners transiting through Kenya. This is for the best of the nation given the fact that it is struggling to contain covid-19.
Foreigners of Pakistan origin have been reported to be arriving in the country and residing at hotels or AirBnBs around the City.
