Lil Nas X Reveals He’s Pregnant With Debut Album ‘Montero’

Lil Nas X is pregnant…with his debut album.

Before delivering his “baby” Montero on Sept. 17, the rapper is celebrating with a pregnancy shoot. In the pics, Nas cradles his fake baby bump while wearing a flower crown by the pool. He also shared a sonogram and a TikTok video announcing his pregnancy.

Nas came up with the idea for the shoot after listening to Megan Thee Stallion’s verse on his new song “Dolla Sign Slime.”

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing,’ so I immediately called my stylist,” he told PEOPLE. “She was like, ‘Wow, this all comes together. Your album. Your baby.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, this is my baby, huh?’ As a joke, she was like, ‘Yeah, you should do a pregnancy shoot.’”

“I was like, ‘You know what? That’s actually brilliant,’” he added. “So now we have this entire thing coming out, and it’s going to be amazing.”

The maternity shot comes just days after the “Old Town Road” rapper recreated Drake’s Certified Lover Boy cover art featuring several pregnant man emojis in place of women.

Montero arrives Sept. 17 featuring appearances from Doja Cat, Elton John, Miley Cyrus, and Jack Harlow. The deluxe will also include a collaboration with Kid Cudi, which came together on Twitter.

“You’re getting a lot of stories about me,” Nas said of the project. “You’re getting a lot of stories about my past and where I want to be in my love life. But they’re also a bop. I feel like I finally found a great balance between being as real as possible within my music and making a hit song.”
