More Than 660,000 White Flags Planted On National Mall To Honor American Covid Deaths

An art installation commemorating every American who has died from Coronavirus has opened in the nation’s capital.

The concept of artist Suzanne Brennan Firstenberg, more than 666,000 flags have been planted over 20 acres near the Washington Monument in Washington, DC.

It comes as a panel advising the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recommended boosters of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine for people aged 65 and over.

It voted against approving a booster shot for everyone 16 and over, however.

The outcome is a blow for US President Joe Biden, who said widespread jabs would be available as early as next week if approved.
