Mukuria Ngamau Fined Ksh.720.8M Or Serve 27 Year Term For Swindling Youth Fund

Mukuria Ngamau, the Director of Quorandum Limited, has been fined Ksh.720.8 million. If not, he will serve a 27 -years sentence. This is due to his involvement the Youth Enterprises Development Fund of Ksh. 180 fraud.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti also ordered that the trading firm compensate the Youth Fund for the loss of Ksh180 million.

He was found guilty of five counts of corruption by a Nairobi court. He was charged with three crimes. They include: conspiracy to commit an economic crime. The second one is unlawful acquisition of public property, and finally falsifying documents.

The offences were committed in 2014.

Catherine Namuye Akelo, Bruce Odhiambo, Doreen Ng’ang’a were also charged. They were chief executive officer, chairman and director respectively.

And on Thursday, September 30, Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti passed judgement on Mukuria Ngamau and Quorandum Limited for fraud related charges.
