Nicki Minaj Flexes Vocals On New Song Snippet

While fans await her fifth album, Nicki Minaj is giving them a taste of new music.

In an Instagram Story, the Queen shared a snippet of an unnamed track. On the 15-second clip, which was recorded in her studio, Papa Bear’s mother shows off her angelic singing voice. Although it was brief, it was enough to get fans excited.

Nicki says she wants an R&B singer like Keke Wyatt, Tamar Braxton, or Brandy to recreate the vocals, while also suggesting Summer Walker, Jhené Aiko, and Kehlani as possible vocalists.

“That’s what I sound like in my head. Would love to hear ppl who can rlly do it,” tweeted Nicki, who plans to turn it into a full song. “Once I have the a capella vocals I’ll put Smthn special together with it.”

Nicki has been hard at work on her highly-anticipated fifth album, the follow-up to 2018’s Queen. “I’m back to enjoying music. You know when you’re just back in your zone and your creativity is on high and you can just do it in your sleep. It’s magic again,” she told fans earlier this year. “This album will definitely be my best album of all time thus far.”

Back in June, she also surprised her Barbz with “Big Barbie,” a four-year-old collaboration with Future from her Queen recording sessions.
