Chaos Erupted at Kenol, Murang’a on Sunday morning, October 4, leaving one person reportedly dead ahead of Deputy President William Ruto’s visit to the county.

One person is feared dead in the protests as goons stormed a petrol station, pelting motorists with stones as people around scampered for safety.

The goons also blocked a section of the highway after lighting tyres and staging protests ahead of the Deputy President’s visit.

Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata witnessed the chaos and advised the Deputy President to liaise with locals before visiting an area.

“Stop this power struggle, it’s causing the Nation too much trouble. Endangering lives of innocent ones.”, Bunny (Power strugglers). Passed Kenol on my way to church in Muranga.

“Saw chaos among the youth ahead of some political visit. We heed HE advise and work for the people first,” noted Kang’ata.

In a separate video, a woman who was caught up in the chaos alleged that local leaders in the area sponsored the chaos.

Soy MP Caleb Kositany called out politicians who were involved in the alleged planning of the protests, terming it as an ‘old school tactic’.

“Sponsored violence by Kieleweke in Murang’a, this is very old school. It’s a church function for heaven’s sake, they want to evict us from church too?

“Deep state-sponsored violence in Muranga an attempt to stop DP from attending a church function at Kenol. It shall fail in Jesus name,” he noted.
