Raila Holds Re-Unites In Kisumu, Calls For Voter Listening

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday took his charm offensive to Kisumu, where he held roadside rallies in Ahero, Nyamasaria, Kondele and the Kisumu bus park.

Addressing residents at the various spots, Odinga urged residents to take advantage of the ongoing mass voter registration, to enable him garner the numbers to propel him to State House in his bid to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Raila further defended his social economic stimulus plan, where he recommended a Ksh.6,000 monthly stipend to targeted households, bashing naysayers by breaking down a matrix for which to pool the funds to support the program.

“Some people say that Raila is spreading propaganda, they do not know that I was a prime minister for five years and that the President has also mentioned that this country loses Ksh.2 billion daily to corruption,

that translates to over Ksh.600 billion, yet my plan will cost an average Ksh.140 billion. I know the avenues from which they are looting this money from and I will block all of them,” said Odinga.

The ODM boss, in a bid to woe the youth, advocated for the issuance of loans to enterprises owned by young people, reviving the tax holiday proposal that was mentioned in the BBI report.

Odinga drummed up support for what he called the economic revolution which he termed as the third and final liberation after independence and the promulgation of the 2010 constitution.

“We need to talk about supporting these MSMEs so that they can grow to become major entities, that is what the Chinese did,

that is what the Koreans did and that is what Vietnam did, do you hear me? We start from the bottom and that is what I want us to do, are we together?” posed Odinga.

He was accompanied by ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya and party chairperson John Mbadi, Kisumu Woman Representative Rosa Buyu, Kisumu Central legislator Fred Ouda and local leaders from the county.
