T-Pain is putting Kanye West on blast.
During one of his recent Twitch livestreams, T-Pain accused his “Good Life” collaborator of stealing one of his “corny lines,” much to his surprise.
“Kanye stole one of my corny lines,” he told viewers. “I couldn’t believe it. Kanye stole one of my corny lines after he told me it was corny.”
This was around 2010-2011 when T-Pain says he was working with Ye on Watch the Throne. At the time, T-Pain was also recording his mixtape prEVOLVEr. “I was proud of my new mixtape I had done and it was mostly rap,” he said.
The line in question appeared on T-Pain’s song “Danger” where he raps, “I got beef like two burgers / You ni**as win slow / And I’m smarter than Steve Urkel.”
He played it for Kanye and asked for his feedback. Kanye confirmed that it was corny, telling him, “Don’t ever say anything ever like that.”
So he was surprised to hear Ye recycle the line on “Dark Fantasy” off My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which was released prior to prEVOLVEr in November 2010. “Fresh air, rollin’ down the window / Too many Urkels on your team, that’s why your wins low,” raps Ye.
“I don’t think he said it better, I don’t think anything happened that his was better than mine…because mine was out,” added T-Pain.
However, it caused him to question Kanye’s motive. “I was like, ‘Did this ni**a try to get me to not say my shit so he could say it?” he recalled. “I was like, ‘Bro, that’s my bar.’”
T-Pain seemingly still harbors resentment and threw shade at Kanye’s recent DONDA listening events. “Then you’re getting lifted to the fu**in’ ceiling like a God with a light shining down on him…and y’all ni**as is paying $50 in chicken fingers to listen to a fu**in’ unfinished album twice.”
He also responded to critics who think he’s just hating. “All of a sudden I’m hatin’ because, ‘You can’t fill up a stadium,’” said T-Pain, adding, “Yes, I can, I’ve done it…But I’ve also let people hear fu**in’ finished songs.”
