Former UK prime minister Tony Blair has described eligible people who are not vaccinated against Covid and have no medical reason not to get the jab as “idiots”.
The former Labour PM told Times Radio those who choose not to have a vaccine should not be targeted in a heavy-handed way but persuaded to have a jab.
“There may be all sorts of reasons, but honestly it is in their own interest, never mind the public interest, for them to get vaccinated,” he said.
