At least 26 travelers are being held by Kampala police after they were spotted in a nightclub during curfew hours.
The group was partying and drinking at Labamba Bar Annexx, a bar in Kampala’s Rubaga Village.
The covert operation was launched when members of the public complained that the bar was breaking government guidelines designed to stop the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
When a fresh cop stormed the location, he discovered the group in the middle doing something illegal.
The bar is claimed to feature specific rooms with soundproof walls, making it difficult for anyone to detect anything nefarious going on within.
To make matters worse, none of the individuals were wearing a mask,
and they were also smoking shisha, which was later collected by police authorities.
Some bartenders are reported to have influenced the minds of security officers by
offering them cash in exchange for them continuing to carry out their duties without intervention.
