Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has slammed Deputy President William Ruto over what he termed as constant attacks against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Mudavadi, DP Ruto should be able to step aside if he feels like the government in which he serves is not heading in the right direction.
Mudavadi said it is strange for the DP to constantly attack his boss President Kenyatta and the Jubilee government, yet still stay on and continue enjoying the trappings of power that come with it.
The former Vice President further urged the DP to embrace the aspect of collective responsibility, and not take credit for the good development projects of the Jubilee government while, at the same time, taking himself out of the equation when its failures are mentioned.
The One Kenya Alliance co-principal further sought to assure his supporters that the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition has since been fully folded, with all parties signing the dissolution agreement.
“NASA ni historia, hiyo imekwisha. Sisi wote tuliandika, hata registrar wa political parties akatoa ujumbe kirasmi mwezi jana kwamba sasa hakuna NASA tena. Kwa hivo mimi sioni kuna faida kuongelea NASA tena, kwa sababu hiyo ni historia,” he said.
Mudavadi reiterated his earlier sentiments that President Kenyatta has not asked them, One Kenya Alliance principals, to abandon their presidential ambitions in favour of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
He said that during the meeting, which was held at State House in Mombasa a few months ago, there was no political talk whatsoever, and that the discussion was only centered around matters of national interest.
Hakuna siasa tulizungumza.”
