Lewis Hamilton says Formula 1 is “duty bound” to raise awareness of human rights issues
in Qatar at the country’s maiden grand prix.
“As sports go to these places, they are duty bound to raise awareness for these issues,” the British race driver said.
He was praised for wearing a rainbow helmet, recognising the LGBTQ+ community.
The race was held in Qatar, which has been criticised by Amnesty International –
who described the human rights situation there as “extremely troubling”.
