The Attorney General of the United States Merrick Garland has appointed Prosecutor Jack Smith yesterday to conduct an investigation against the former President of the United States Donald Trump, a few days after he announced his intention to run again for the Presidency in the 2024 election, @dw_kiswahili have reported.
Garland has said that the investigation is for the benefit of the public to bring two cases facing Trump which are the former President’s efforts to change the results of the 2020 election and send important documents to the White House.
Trump has condemned the move and said it is a political and unfair headline just because he is leading in the opinion polls and insists that he will never give support to the investigation.
