Kajiado: Man Tried To Scare A Guard With A Toy Pistol, It Did Not End Well For Him

A 29-year-old man is fighting for his life at a hospital in Kajiado after he was roughed up by security guards at a local watering joint.

According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, the man identified as Joshua Kalama brandished a gun and attacked a security guard at the said club as he attempted to make a dramatic entry.

“Joshua Kalama, 29, made the miscalculated move early today morning, after a security guard at a square bar in Kajiado stopped him on his tracks, as he tried to gain entry to the club,” a police report seen by Citizen Digital recounts.

Police officers say Mr. Joshua whipped out a toy gun and brandished it at a security guard, and ordered him out of the way.

“He pointed it at the shaken but well-built guard, Cleophas Otieno and ordered him out of his way,” the report adds.

All had gone according to plan until the pistol failed to fire prompting the guard to attack back.

“Otieno almost gave in to his demands but when the damned ‘pistol’ failed to fire, the guard swiftly pinned him to the ground and raised alarm attracting a dozen security guards, manning different establishments within the town,” the report explains.

The guards are said to have unleashed a horrific attack on Mr. Kalama who was left with life-threatening injuries.

He was rescued by police officers from Kajiado who were on patrol and whisked to a hospital where he is currently recuperating

According to officers familiar with the matter, he will be arraigned in court to answer to charges of attempted robbery with violence contrary to section 295 as read with 297 (2) of the penal code.
