MOST JAPANESE PEOPLE DIDN’T SUPPORT THE OLYMPICS

The Tokyo Olympics have proved controversial, since the Covid pandemic began.

Before the Games started a petition against the Olympics collected 420,000 signatures, 10,000 registered volunteers quit, hospitals posted ‘Stop Olympics’ messages on windows and hundreds of cities backed out of hosting.

Japan is enjoying record success at the Games, but outside of the Olympics, Covid cases in the country are rising. Infection numbers have hit a record high across Japan.
