A police constable stationed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport reportedly committed suicide at his home in Kagio, Kirinyaga county on Tuesday.

Mwea-West sub-county police commander Stephen Okal confirmed the incident, saying the deceased- Donfan Wanyaga- hung himself inside his house.

Shocked residents led by a primary school teacher Eliud Gachoki said the deceased was very friendly

“In fact his wife called us saying her husband wanted to commit suicide unfortunately he killed himself before we arrived,” Gachoki said.

The officer is survived by his widow and their two kids.
