Man stung to death by bees while trying to Help His Father At Kisumu

A 65-year-old man died on Friday after being attacked by a swarm of bees at their home in Kotunga village in Kisumu County.

His 85-year-old father who was the first to be attacked by the bees survived but is in

critical condition at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).

Kajulu West location Chief Tobias Omollo said the deceased had attempted to rescue his father when the bees struck.

He says the son managed to cover his father using a blanket and rescued him but unfortunately the bees turned on him and stung him to death.

Chief Omolo says members of the public attempted to rescue him but it was too late and he died at the scene.

According to the chie, the bees that had a hive at the home of the deceased were triggered by a lorry that was ferrying sand.
